victimas at the key club [listening]

from my flickr collection
victimas takes the stage

i saw victimas del dr. cerebro at the key club last night. this was another concert that i bought 2 tickets for so my girl could go too. only, the next day at work was really important for her and she doesn't even know their music. i tried to ask the one person i know who listens to spanish rock but no reply. so i dragged along my cousin because she might enjoy their kind of crazy rock. damn, she loved it. however, just as i feared, they took forever to go on. the opener was sector libertad. they were ok but i was really dying to see victimas. then after that, i have no idea why, but there were aztec dancers. i hadn't been to the key club in a long time and had forgotten how small it is. before anyone went on, time was killed with spanish rock music videos on the screen. actually, i think it was a great idea. it keeps you from getting too bored waiting around and sets the tone.

the band was crazy as usual. everything i briefed my cousin on as to how the band is live pretty much happened. there were stage props with references to horror films, the band wearing lights, members jumping the audience, etc. i've never seen this before but one girl from the audience made her way on stage to complain to the band that they landed on her when stage diving. baaaaahahahaaa. get the fuck out of here. anyway, about 3 times the mic was turned to me to sing along. thank got it was parts that i knew! i'm also glad that they played a pretty decent setlist and even though i haven't listened to the new album much, i knew most of the songs.

[update: later on photos and a video were posted by otheres and you can see my cousin and i rocking out in the front row. ok, she's rocking out and i look like a dork but that's because i'm in crazy victimas mode, with my hair pulled back and every now and then trying to take a picture.]
