the internets is down [geeking]

a couple days ago the browser in my phone was not working, damn blackberries! i couldn't believe it. the screen would go white with a blue box error message. it was very hard to clear the message. i would press all kinds of buttons and eventually when you press the call button the white screen would fade away for the screen that lets you pick one of your recent calls to call again, but the blue box error message would remain. then i'd have to press all kinds of buttons and eventually the blue box would go away. however, this didn't solve the problem. neither did the usual removing of battery and sim card for awhile solve it. i turned to google to help me find a solution. i ended up with a workaround. somehow, the bookmarks in blackberry are fucking things up. the default start screen for the browser is the bookmarks screen. so what you have to do is send an email to yourself that you can open up in blackberry with a URL in it. click on it for the browser to open, bypassing the bookmarks screen. then you can change your options so that your start page is no longer the bookmarks. that's what i did and it works. i can no longer use bookmarks, however. that is ok as i never really used them. i only bookmarked one or two sites. but that this is the solution for now is quite crappy. the other solution i read about was to wipe out your phone completely and connect it to the computer to restore. you know what? that is such crap! i've only connected my phone once to my mac and it was such a pain in the ass and so slow that i gave up. the iphone is looking mighty good right now.

last night i went to bed with the internet working fine. this morning i wanted to clear out my spam over breakfast like usual and the internets is down. wtf? all the cables were still in place. i don't have any children or pets that would have messed with it. i didn't change a thing. but just in case, i restarted my modem box a couple times. nada. the hours were too odd for someone to have messed with the wires outside. but maybe that's what happened? or maybe my building is out? the street is out? something wrong with the service? it better be working when i get home tonight. i have things i need to do! it's not just playing around. i do volunteer web design for a non-profit. i need to get shit done. this really sucks.
