my car got towed! [screaming]

oh what a sucky day it's been. my stomach was a little bleugh and i was tired and sore so i thought i could get up to shower but i marched straight back to bed. i don't think i have many sick hours left to use but i need some more rest. a couple hours later i shower and dress. i realize something, gasp, and run out the door. i don't even brush my hair first. i had parked in a construction zone and had to be out by 7am. that is no problem for me when i go to work. however, i slept in and it was past 9am. sure enough, my car was gone. i noted the number on the sign for the towing company and tried to track down my car and what to do. they wanted over $200 to get my car freed from their clutches. i called my mom to take me and while we're at it, can i just do some laundry and some errands? i feel low. don't want to be alone. so that's what i did. i paid and waited to get my car back. to add insult to injury, there was also a ticket on the car. plus, the sheet i received when i paid for my car had all sorts of info on it, including what they estimate the value of the car to be, which was only $501. you see, tow companies have the right to own and auction off your car after so many days. that's what i feared: losing my car.

my mom has already complained to me about where i live and the parking issue. now she's really upset and wanted to go look for a new place for me on the spot. um, no, i'm not staying forever but i just did have a housewarming party! she recently listed 3 things as to the reasons why she thinks i can't make friends. it's kinda funny. it's nothing i haven't thought of before but to have someone else tell you this is kinda mean. anyway, here's why i can't make friends according to my mom: 1. no parking so no one wants to come over, 2. being vegan means no one wants to eat with me, 3. being gay freaks people out. she seriously started to try to convert me on all those points. um, no. no! NO! those things are not up for negotiation. except for housing, just not up for negotiation right now.
