the ex- and i went to go see marilyn manson for old time's sake. i'm glad that twiggy is back in the band. the night started off weird though. so far, when things have been weird, it's because she's been messing around the night before. i don't want to read into this stuff anymore. i tried to brush it off and move on but we needed a few minutes and a few tears to regroup.

marilyn manson was playing at the grove of anaheim. we met a friend of my ex-'s little sister there. we've gone to a concert with her before. talking to her about music, i didn't realize how cool younger people could be i guess. i mean, what 80s baby knows genitorturers? it was cool that she referenced them. september mourning opened up and they sucked. sorry, but they did. the music and vocalist did not go together at all. change vocalists or change styles.

i was surprised to see that manson has gotten fat. he has the middle aged gut just like so many others out there. plus, he seemed just out of it. he couldn't sing like before and for most of the middle of the set, a staff member would come out after each song to give him oxygen. there's something very wrong when shock rockers are getting oxygen on stage. the music sounded great, tighter than i think i've ever heard the band. that's why it's such a shame that the vocals were lacking in quality. we were headbanging like crazy to "irresponsible hate anthem" and are so sore that i don't think i'm ever headbanging again.
