dancing weekend [living]

man, i am so tired from dancing this weekend! we went out dancing friday night and i wore my killer heels for the second time. we called it a night when my feet hurt too much. oh, before we danced we ate at real food daily. i have only been there a couple times so i'm always glad to get another chance to sample their fare. i had enchiladas which made great leftovers. yesterday we went to LA pride for the first time. i had no idea what would be at pride and i learned that pride is basically about dancing. there are several tented areas for dancing and inbetween that are booths on this and that, many dedicated to repealing prop 8 next year. the areas we danced in were circuit (a little bit), country (can you believe i tried line dancing?), and latin (most of the night). my feet hurt but more than that, my calf muscles are so damn sore! we started off the dancing at the country area and i just can't do line dancing. the guy giving instructions was being blocked and his meaning of quarter turn and half turn are completely different than mine. sooooo i wasn't getting it and i kinda broke down in the bathroom that i suck so bad i can't even line dance, that this is why my ex- dumped me because she loves to dance and i just totally suck at it. and all i can hear in my head is that song that goes "do you love me now that i can dance?' i tried to pull myself together and the night got much better. i tried to get my hips and legs to be latin. it wasn't quite there but once you stop being so damn self-conscious, your body starts to groove and you're not so out of place. it also helps to dance with someone who can really move. there were a couple places taking digital photos for free and we did one of them. since it was set up with a seat and lighting rig, i called it our first professional photo. i didn't let the thoughts of 'why did all this only happen after we broke up' overwhelm me and just tried to live in the moment. but back to the food. before pride, we ate at pure luck and i had a yummy torta. then right before walking into pride, we grabbed some vegan shakes that were super yummy, only they wouldn't let us in with our drinks so we had to quickly finish them before going in. overall, i had a great time, thank you!
