i have no idea what to name my baby

my ex- bought me a new kick-ass ipod. my old ipod has been getting cranky. it doesn't always sync. it doesn't hold battery life for more than an hour or so. my ex- got the ipod for me as a valentine's day present but they ordered it online so it just arrived. they are a bit upset that i call it my parting gift. they said they had wanted to get it for me for awhile. the back is engraved. i knew it would be. that's what apple's site offers and we take advantage of that and both of our ipods are engraved. i requested that they write something personal but not to tell me what it was, i wanted to be surprised, and boy did they deliver. i cried. this is so hard because we both still love each other. we just can't be together because we each want different things from the relationship.

so why do i call it my parting gift? sometimes when people retire from a job they've worked at for many years, they receive a parting gift such as a gold watch. after almost 14 years together, i got dumped and an ipod was the parting gift i received from my ex- 1.5 months later. i've moving out this week. thanks for the ipod babe!
