today i went to check out a studio apartment close to work. the pros: it's close to work. the cons: it's small and expensive. i liked it enough that i put in an application and money for a credit check. honestly, i felt a bit pressured that it's a half decent place and i might not find anything half decent near work that i could afford without selling body parts. plus, i knew several people had already looked at it and might snatch it up if i'm indecisive. if i lived there, it would force me to seriously declutter and do what i've been wanting to do, which is downsize. however, i don't know if i can downsize this much, this quickly. the place is seriously small. my current bedroom is probably the same size as the whole place, including the kitchen and bathroom. there isn't much of a closet whereas right now i have a walk-in closet that is full. i'd have no room to host dinner parties or even much of a housewarming party. i recently watched "flight of the conchords" season 1 and one guy rents a closet and throws a housewarming party. i feel like that. *sigh*
