hunting for a place not so close to work [uncoupling]

i've decided to focus my search for a new place that is not so close to work. things by my work are just too expensive. i would commute like i do now, just live somewhere else. that might not be so bad. i could afford having a bedroom instead of just a studio, or even worse, a roommate situation. so today i went to see a place and walked down the street to see what else was available in the area. there were a lot of rentals! the first place i saw was actually quite decent. it only has 2 shortcomings. it does not include parking and street parking can be really tough in that area, especially during certain times of the year. the other feature it does not have is more of a luxury, actually. it's not something i expect to get with the size of place i'm looking for and my budget. but it'd be great to find a place with laundry hook-ups so i don't have to sell my washer/dryer. i had planned on selling it before because it wasn't necessary anymore as we had bought brand new appliances but now that i'll be living on my own, i could use my old and used set.
