kwanzaa, the new jewish holiday [working]

i need a new category called "laughing". i work at a famous higher institution of learning and yet there are still dumb people among us, and i'm not talking about the staff. no, i'm talking about the student body. sometimes i wonder how they even got in. take today's little example.

the students work in the stores. i was at one of the stores running an errand. i overheard one worker ask another worker a question and it went like this:

girl: you're jewish right? you know that jewish holiday with the thing that holds the candles?...
boy: ...a menorah?...
girl: ...no, what is it, kwanzaa?

at this point i had to walk quickly or else i would have died laughing on the spot so unfortunately i don't know how the rest of their conversation went.
