camp freddy december residency #4 [listening]

another camp freddy residency at the roxy. i just got back and have lots of crap to do but have to post about the show!!!

same deal as before: same opening bands, no setlist souvenir for me, just going by what's in my photos, my memory, and pieces of info from the internet. rock moments: juliette lewis stage diving, hitting twiddle thumbs, and me pushing juliette towards the other side. damn she's light and thin but twiddle thumbs doesn't think she's so light since she's the one that got hit. i think if jude law ever needs a double for film work, he should call on the singer of spacehog. they're not exactly alike but it's close enough, at least i thought so at first. the dude's a good singer actually, even if the band was one of those forgettable 90s bands. linda perry is amazing. i don't care what anyone says, "what's up" was a great song. and then ozzy came out.

now ozzy is something i've never really understood. when i first heard his music, i thought it was a joke. how could anyone take that voice seriously? he's supposed to be dark and evil? hardly! i was living where radio was crap and listened to the hard rock station a lot and go to know some of ozzy's hits. years later came his reality show and i wanted to be adopted by the osbournes since the kids seemed ungrateful at what a blessed life they had. seeing ozzy in person was a bit of a shock. i mean, the guy is roughly my mom's age but doesn't look like it. clearly he's had work done. facelift, capped teeth, etc. and after watching the reality show, i wonder how much stress he went through to get out on the stage. he was like a small child too, all smiling and jumping up and down and clapping out of joy. only, his age betrayed him and his jumps were small and he constantly clung to the mic stand like a cane. i wasn't at the very front and had to battle many heads and photographers in front of me to get some shots but overall it was a good show and i think i got some great shots.
