the library and the underground [traveling]
it seems that everytime i check out a new city, i must hit 2 vegetarian places. that is why we went to the mighty-o vegan donut shop. we took half a dozen home. i actually had already eaten some leftovers for breakfast so i wasn't quite hungry. i sampled a part of 3 different flavors. the first donut i tried tasted too much like unflavored soy milk but i think the rest were ok. after that we squeezed in a couple things before our flight.
first we went to seattle's central public library. a library? real exciting, sure... but if you're into books or architecture then it actually is an interesting place. i briefly looked at floors 10, 9, 4, 3, and 1. i'm finding it very difficult to actually talk about the library. it is filled with so many words but i'm feeling particularly lazy in the modern way. can't you just scan my thoughts for images and facts? no, not possible, yet. just check out the link and photos.
second, we did the underground tour. it killed time but that's it. (it's not exactly cheap either.) you walk down below the street to the old part of seattle that they rebuilt over. not terribly exciting and you have to put up with a lot of lame jokes. the tour is 90 minutes but if they cut out the crap it could easily be a 30 minute tour.
overall i felt like seattle was a decent enough town that i need more time to get to know. i need to get acquainted with more of the northwest actually but when i lived in santa cruz, people there said seattle's just a big city version of santa cruz. now that i've finally seen seattle in person, i can kinda agree with that statement. i miss colder weather, trees/nature, and all that stuff. so this was a nice break from LA. what i wasn't expecting seattle to have were trees that change color in the autumn. especially the ones by the lake made for a nice picturesque scene.
we must've brought back a little of seattle with us to LA because it was all foggy when we arrived and foggy all the drive home.
