icons of seattle [traveling]
we had a late start today. i woke up at 7am but for some reason, i went back to sleep for another 3.5 hours. finally in the pm hours, we dropped off my cousin for work then saw a bit of seattle. first we went to the pike place public market, which wasn't as crowded as it could be with tourists but it was crowded enough for me. just across the street was the original starbucks, which i didn't plan for but there it was. given what a huge coffee drinker i am (sarcasm), i just had to take a picture of the original logo. then we got some vegan cookies and soy hot chocolate at another place. so cool that they had several vegan treats to choose from. after that we ran an errand.
then it was off to the space needle because it's a tourist requirement. unlike other towers i've been up, you can actually walk outside on the observation deck. it was overcast so it wasn't a spectacular sunset display but it was still a nice view of the city turning into night with all the lights turning on.
darkness came and that meant that it was time for dinner. finally we checked out somewhere on my list of veg(etari)an places i was interested in. we went to pizza pi, a vegan pizzeria. too many good options but we went with the white lightning because it has potatoes on it. while we waited roughly 10 minutes for our take-out pizza, we sat there having a soda and looked at the dessert options. i had noticed next door was also a vegan grocer but if the pizza is any good, i could move out here solely on the basis of the town having an all vegan pizzeria. ^_^ i guess i was too excited over the pizza because i forgot to take a picture of it. just know this: it was good but i hate mushrooms so picked off most of them.
of course tonight we finished the "true blood" series, season one. season two will air next summer but i just might read the books it's based on before then. (the sookie stackhouse novels by charlaine harris.)
