skull Projects

Another "project" of mine is to minimize my life and I'm starting off by selling (and a few trades) most of my music collection. For now I am only listing about 200 pieces at a time, otherwise it becomes too much to deal with. If you do not see what you are looking for, then email me which band you are interested in and I'll see if I have what you're looking for. half.com, ebay, amazon.com, lala.com

no place to hide [reading]

while visiting with my grandmother, she told me of a book she recently purchased. she had read the obituary of david bradley last month and decided to purchase his book "no place to hide", which is about the nuclear testing on the bikini islands in the immediate post-WWII years. she couldn't find the book and borders said they would find it for her. she just got the book a few days ago. she wanted the book because my grandfather was also at the bikini islands during the nuclear tests. she is so fucking upset at the way the government treated my grandfather. he had chronic health problems ever since the testing. i never knew much about this because i didn't grow up with him having to go to the hospital, undergo unnecessary surgery, be lied to, loss of blood (once he lost 7 pints), be put in a mental ward, etc. i'm hearing the details now. i knew of some of it, mostly the hemorrhaging, but the rest of it is stuff that would get you pissed off at. to tell my grandfather and i'm sure countless other men who served at bikini that their health problems were not related to the nuclear tests, that they had ulcers, that it was mental, etc. is repulsive and deplorable. i purchased the book used online today and i'm sure for much less than how ever much borders charged my grandmother. i owe it to my grandfather to read more about this part of history since he was a part of it.
