2008 presidential candidates [thinking]

some people have already started talking about the 2008 presidential candidates but i haven't paid any attention to it. i say already because it's not election time. what's different this time though is that the campaigning is starting earlier. so people are talking about it longer than we normally go through. in some ways it's good. we have more time to learn about their potentials and political agendas. in other ways it's bad because you become drained early on, both the candidates and the voters. what's different this time also is that it's anybody's election. there is no favorite. plus, it's the first time we could have a non-white, non-male in office. i think these factor into the early campaigning and people's interest in talking about the presidential race. in the end though i always feel like's it's between choosing the lesser evil. i feel that by the time you reach a certain office, you have already corrupted your values to get to that position so you're not going to bring about any change or carry through with your political promises. we'll just have to wait and see what happens over the next few months.
