photo frustrations [geeking]

ok here's the thing, i am so damn frustrated with my computer setup. i envisioned the old tower i got to be my media center, full of music and photos. only, it's too old to really be that. it's slow and noisy. i could live with that. what i can't live with is software not properly functioning. i cannot drag on drop files onto the dock application icon to open up files in photoshop. that's a major drag 'cos that's how i always open files on the mac.

then there's the iphoto/flickr issue. any photo that i've modified the date/time cannot be uploaded to flickr! grrr! that means my entire recent trip because i didn't change the times on my camera when i went through various time zones and i'm really anal about having the proper date/time on my photos for the sake of organization. that's why none of my mexico city trip photos are in flickr. to put them on the blog, i've been doing it manual: reducing the size in photoshop and uploading the file. but to go back to the issue above, i can't drag the file to the dock icon so i have to pull up the entire path in photoshop/file/open which is a real bitch 'cos the path to photos organized by iphoto is long.

due to the tower being slow and noisy i had thought of saving up funds to buy a different computer to use has my media hub and selling the tower. with these photo software issues, i think that day is going to have to come sooner than i thought.
