monty python and the holy grail [watching]

it's taken me a long time to watch "monty python and the holy grail". i have never seen anything by monty python but while growing up, i was always told that i would probably like it and how funny it is. well now i can say how wrong those people are. i borrowed the "monty python and the holy grail" dvd from a friend and it took me several tries to even get through the whole film! actually, it took me several tries to get through the first 20 minutes. after that, i forced myself to sit through the rest of the film so i could finally finish it. there were a few near chuckle moments but nothing was funny enough to really laugh. it just wasn't my sense of humor or funny enough. the film is from 1975 and it just goes back to my blanket theory of 1960s and 1970s films aren't for me. i enjoy films from all the other decades of cinema, even though i might not have seen many from the 1940s for example, but overall the ratio of films i like versus dislike is much more favorable. based on the sour experience of this film, i think it will be a long time before i give anything else monty python a chance.
