glasses not required [living]

this morning i went to renew my driver license. it didn't say i had to take any driving tests again, just that my vision needed to be tested. this is what i've been dreading for years. i feel like i barely passed when i got my license as a teenager. that's because my mom was standing right there and yelling at me for not being able to read things correctly. the dmv lady had to tell her to back off! though i can see fine without glasses, i should wear them to see better, in other words, make less u-turns because i missed the street sign. that's what prompted me to start wearing glasses again a couple summers ago. since then i've been regular about it and have stopped squinting, which means i can't see too well without my glasses now. if i don't put them on first thing in the morning, i'm fine but i still don't squint that much so i don't think i see as well as i did before i got glasses. hence, i was worried about taking the vision test. it went by pretty good though. only one letter really stumped me and delayed my answer. the dmv guy didn't make any comments about my vision and told me go on to get my picture taken. woo hoo! i'm still not required to wear glasses! it wouldn't be a bad thing to be required but let's say in a hurry you forget your glasses and are pulled over. then you are fucked. the picture i took for my license is only my third picture. my two previous ones were not good. i hope this one's better!
