since we're going to be traveling this month to mexico city and i don't want to sorely stick out as a tourist, (it can't be helped as i don't look like a native of mexico, no matter how many times people in los angeles think i'm mexican), we went to get some cheap clothes tonight. normally, i feel very weird if i'm not wearing something black. the shirt or the pants must be black. but i got clothes that are not black at all, in fact some are even light in color. (i can hear people who know me gasping at the sight of me in these clothes.) instead of feeling weird wearing those clothes, it was more like i was dressing up as someone else, much like halloween. if i can just keep that mentality, then i should be fine during my trip. of course, i won't look like a native person of any country simply by altering my clothes, but i should stick out less because even over here, people think i'm weird for wearing all black.
