internet ads suck [screaming]

i hate how ads are creeping into our lives. 'any space that can be filled' it seems is how advertisors think. especially i hate ads on the internet. pop-ups, floating over the content you want to see, must view the 5 seconds of crap before the content you want, must click continue to see the next page so more ads are loaded, ads with audio, etc. i hate them all. if a site has a lot of ads, i eventually stop using it. i don't want to bother with a site that has more ads than content.

even though web design and styles have evolved over the past decade, it seems that many ads have not. i'm constantly running into sites with ads that look like they're straight out of a how to design for netscape 2.0 book. even though there are commercials on tv one might like, i can't think of any on the internet that i like. maybe online advertisors should become clever with their ads. maybe then i won't hate them so much. maybe one day i'll even click on it! that's the other thing i don't get, if ads are so hated, why are they still there? they exisit because enough people are clicking on it and eventually buying what it is that is being peddled. just like spam. enough idiots are falling for the scams so the spam and scams do not go away.

it seems that the christian right has a lot of power in this country. perhaps if i went around churches across the country and interrupted sermons with advertisements, it would piss them off enough to form an anti-advertisement movement. maybe there will even be a decline in spam and internet ads. hmmm, i think i'm onto something. i should become a preacher and do just that!
