héroes del silencio [listening]
just came back from seeing héroes del silencio at the home depot center. i like them but they are not my favorite band that sings in spanish. i really like the pretty guitar songs, those sound a bit gothic. i am not a fan of their straight-up rock songs. i think they are like the cult from england. their sound started gothy but they progressed towards rock and the more rock their sound became, the more popular they became. héroes broke up before i ever had a chance to see them live. i haven't even seen enrique bunbury at a solo concert. when i heard that héroes was reuniting to tour this year, i had to get tickets. it was a good show. they played for about 2 hours and played many songs i like. (although there were a couple that i wished they had played) i am not a fan of big stadium concerts and this one was even outdoors. they charged an outrageous $20 for parking. as we sat waiting for the show to begin, we watched one of the security staff taking bribes from people so they could go down to the general admission area by the stage. we saw him let in at least 20 people. i believe it was csc staffing but for sure i remember his jacket ID was #1216.
what was cool about the show was they did the middle part of the concert not on the main stage but at the end of the catwalk for the singer. there was a very small stage there that i didn't even notice. inbetween songs when it was slow, i guess the band walked over there. i didn't notice because i was watching the tv monitors. i looked down and realized the whole band was now in the middle of the audience. pretty cool.
