buzzing your lightyear ass! [gaming]

me wearing an unlikely hat

today we went to disneyland. we used up #3 of our 4 day southern california pass we got earlier this year. (last time we used it to go to california adventure because i had never been there before.) only 1 more time left! i said that i wanted to go on rides that we haven't gone on in a long time. we did that for most of our visit. there are a couple rides that are your favorite that you have to go on each visit and for twiddle thumbs it's indiana jones. twiddle thumbs loves disneyland and has a better memory than i about rides no longer there. as we walked around the park, we talked about some of those rides. (i found a site that keeps the memory of those rides alive.)

when you view this statue of walt and mickey from the side, well...

the rides we hit were: star tours, the carousel, thunder mountain, alice in wonderland, the teacups (i actually got a little sick even though disney cups are slow--it just goes to show you how much i've aged and that i can't do spinning rides anymore, not even the damn teacups), jungle cruise (it's one of those staples you go on because the ride is short and the only ride where the workers get to use their creativity and be a standup comic), indiana jones, winnie the pooh (i hate pooh and i don't know why i always get talked onto going on this, perhaps because the line is always short), haunted mansion (because now it's decorated for the holidays with the "nightmare before christmas" theme), pirates of the caribbean (because it's been redone for the movie), space mountain (because it's awesome again, unlike those 'dark' times in the 80s when it was slow and the lights were on), buzz lightyear, and the train.

we really wanted to go on the matterhorn and check out the finding nemo ride but by the end of the night we were tired and didn't feel like waiting in either line. the nemo ride line was long all day long. before we left we asked how long the wait was to get a sense. the worker said it's short, only 1 hour long now. forget it, we're locals! when we come for our final use of the pass, we'll get here when disneyland opens and head to nemo first thing.

finally, i just want to say that after all these times of riding buzz lightyear with twiddle thumbs and her winning every fucking time (whether i drive or she drives or we ride separate), that i was very determined and this time i was the one doing the ass kicking!
