the dog whisperer [watching]

lately we've been engrossed in watching season 1 of "the dog whisperer". we don't have a dog but we love dogs. it's also fun as hell to watch some of these dogs with (unusual) problems. after awhile though, it becomes repetitive because the advice is pretty much the same thing. exercise, discipline, then affection. the owners tend to just provide affection and not the other two. hence, the life of the dog is unbalanced. this is the basic problem all of the owners have. i think it's pretty much the same for humans but i'd add diet with the exercise bit and something else i can't quite put my finger on, like work/hobby, for humans to be fulfilled. we're just needier. anyway, enough about humans, back to the dogs. it's great to watch the dogs overcome their problems or watch the owners start to understand how to become better dog owners. the hard part is watching owners who don't want to change because they think they're doing everything right. if you were doing everything right, you wouldn't be calling for help with your dog.
