smells like blog spirit [geeking]

the blog herald is a site all about blogging. the posts that mostly attract my attention are ones designed to make you think about your blog and if it's living up to its potential, designed well, if the entries are well constructed, etc. another good article on there is reenergizing your blogging spirit. let me tell you, this area really gets to me sometimes. i like my blog the way it is and yet i know it needs a change. it was created without direction so it needs direction. these articles on their site always seems to come down to, is the blog for you or the reader? this blog is for me. other blogs i want to be a part of are for the reader. therefore, this one is quite selfish. the other blogs i want to be a part of will give much more care and consideration to the reader. those are blogs i want to build a strong audience for. the reward for hard work is to have an audience that appreciates the blog. this little blog of mine is not in that direction. it's more of a personal style. i feel like the articles in the blog herald really don't address blogs like mine. the blog herald is more for professional blogging and i'm an amateur. they have some good tips although i don't think they necessary always go by their own advice. perhaps that's because it's not one person who writes there but a group of people. if you do have a blog, no matter what kind, i think that reading the articles in the blog herald on a regular basis, such as the article i posted above, will help you focus your blog's content and perhaps point out things you didn't even realize about blogging.
