last night the helicopters were flying about. i guess i got used to them because they didn't get in the way of me falling asleep. last time they were about in the middle of the night, circling very close for about 1 hour. i couldn't sleep that time due to the sheer intensity of the noise. it was a hot summer night and we left some doors/windows open. with the helicopters circling so long, it could only mean they were chasing someone so i shut all the doors/windows. this time, i didn't care what the helicopters were circling for. we tend to have some cholo problems on the street as i've seen many cop cars gathered at night at a certain residence complex before. it probably has something to do with that.

this morning as i went to work, i saw the aftermath of what they must have been circling for. near the freeway onramp i always take, there were flowers on the middle divider, indicating someone had died. on the ground were markings. twiddle thumbs explained to me that the circles usually mean where the bullet shells landed. (i moved out of the ghetto as a kid so i don't know what police markers mean but it seems i'm back in it and am about to learn.) damn. i can't figure out how the shooting took place. there are circles all over the place. i can't tell if a car was chasing the person down (if so they drove like a maniac, perhaps circling the victim), if there were multiple people firing guns, or if it was all on foot. there is also a dotted line across the ground. i wonder if that's the footpath of the victim. if so, he might have died close to where the flowers are. i didn't watch the news and i can't find anything online in the local papers about it. my curiousity is piqued.
