it's time to get real [working]
i went to a young okinawans meeting. it's time to get real folks. i wanted to be a part of this to have fun. i ended up being more involved than i thought i would. i have to do my share to increase member activity. so far, that's not happening. i need to re-examine things. what are we doing wrong? what could we be doing better? i let my criticisms fly of past events. i don't mean to be a bitch but we can't afford any more strikeouts in my opinion. we need each event to be more successful than prior ones. hell, we just need successful events. successful means people coming out, old and new faces alike. i had wanted to do a summer kick-off party with games and a okinawan version of jeopardy but since i didn't hear any responses from my fellow chairs when i called out for volunteer help, i scrapped the idea for a month. after this meeting there is a change of plan. i'll still do the okinawan jeopardy this month but after someone else's event. i'm putting my movies on old because i ran out of movies. perhaps i can continue the pop culture theme in other art such as music but i don't have enough or am knowledgeable enough for a discussion. i thought i might have the music as part of the party/games. anyway, i'll save party idea for later. supposedly a summer party is an annual thing hosted by someone else so i can let them worry about that. but all my critiscisms led me to become involved in the planning of that one too, hahahaa!
