what the hell is going on today? i kept missing my turns when i was driving. it all started when i was heading to work and i missed my exit. i don't know how the hell i could've missed it. what's worse is that it's not like i couldn't merge in time...i was in the rightmost lane! someone did cut in front of me and i was distracted by that. by the time i shook out of it i realized i had missed my exit. what's cool about my exit for work is that it's the last exit before the traffic gets bad. what sucks about the exit is when you miss it! the freeway ends with your choice of taking various other freeways. i was weighing in my head which one i could take to get to work. either taking the one that goes closest to work but could be the most congested or taking a detour by going the opposite direction in easy traffic and then turning around to get to where i needed to go. i decided to go with the freeway that takes me closet to work even though it might be heavy traffic. this decision paid off because when i reached the area where the freeway split, it turned out that the way i was taking was less congested than the other options.

later in the day, i unexpectedly had to take someone to the airport for work. on the way getting there there was some construction that confused me as to which way to go and i got off the freeway unnecessarily so i had to get back on. that was mistake #2 for the day. then after i did the dropoff, i headed back to the freeway to go back to work and accidentally went the wrong way! i could see that the traffic was really bad on the other side, the way i needed to take, so i thought perhaps i should just go by street afterall. i got off at the first available exit and drove back to the point of my mistake and got on the freeway in the right direction this time. it turns out the traffic wasn't bad. it must have only been backed up in that one spot i got a glimpse at.

that is the end of my driving fuckups but then some weird phone stuff happened that made me think i changed bodies. a lady called the office. she needed customer support and that's not my area. the lady would not shut up to let me give her the number to the people she needed to talk to but that's irrelevant. when she called and i answered the phone she asked for my name. "this is mariko." "hi veronica! blah blah blah". woooh, veronica? no one has ever accidentally called me that before. then later i had to call someone about something and the person who answered was not the person i needed to talk to. everytime i call one of our locations, i always say, "hi, this is mariko from the office." i asked to speak to the person i needed to talk to and i heard her say to them, "it's veronica from the office." what? what?! what?!?!?! of all the fucking ways people have misheard and mispronounced my name no one has ever confused me for a veronica and now it's happened twice in one day. and of all the fucking names it has to be my friend's name? did we switch bodies this morning? is this some sort of "freaky friday"? what the hell is going on today!
