earth issues awareness [thinking]

i'm sitting on the couch, surfing the internet with the tv running in the background. a waste, i know. but a program is being shown for earth day with ideas to reduce/reuse/recycle in order to help out the earth. so much of this is shit you already know. the host said to email them for things you can do to make a significant impact. i thought, fuck it, i'll look at the site for fun. i went to their website and you have to submit a video. fuck that. i just wanted to say that no other choice a human can make has a greater impact on health, the environment, and all lifeforms on earth than going vegan (to paraphrase the back of the packaging of some of my favorite vegan cookies by the alternative baking company). i went to the link to calculate your carbon imprint. i had done this before and forgotten how much it pissed me off. it's focusing on the same crap points. it really doesn't cover enough. it asks if you recycle newspapers and why not. i don't read newspapers! it doesn't give credit for other things like being vegetarian, vegan, organic, etc. or if you just read e-books (waste of electricity vs. paper) or if you just go to the library instead of buying book, etc. it doesn't calculate all the junk mail sent, with tips on how to eliminate it. suggestions are for hybrid cars, not completely losing our dependency on oil and going with alternative fuels or increased public transportation. it doesn't suggest putting more windows, skylights, etc. so that one uses natural light instead of electricity. it doesn't give credit for people who don't use heaters nor air conditioners, just suggesting to adjust thermostats and such. fuck you people.
