my love of vitamin water [ingesting]
for as much as i consume vitamin water, there is a serious lack of mention of it on the blog (only casually in 2 entries) so here it goes. i tend to just drink water these days. whether it's been kangen-ized, from the water cooler at work, or with tea bags. i have some soy milk with my cereal but that's about it for me and beverages. the one thing i drink pretty much everyday that doesn't fall into the above categories is another type of water, vitamin water.
the water tastes good. it provides you with vitamins. the labels are cool. what more do you need? well, let me go on so i never talk about it again. it's not completely natural but it's not artificial either. it's enhanced. fortified. that's how a lot of foods are these days and it's great that food technology can do that because it means you will get all the nutrients you need in a day. if you're a purist, to me that means only organic food, no vitamins. i'm inbetween. i don't take vitamins, just eat fortified foods. without it, it'd be damn hard to be vegan. you might have to do some things you might be conditioned into thinking is gross. like not thoroughly washing your veggies so that they have some mother earth nutrition with them. it's not something i'm going to go into in either sense, not talking about it and not doing it. for now, it's vitamin water and soy milk fortified with vitamin b-12 and the like.
vitamin water is essentially smart water (the name of another brand the company makes) with color and flavor. it's vapor distilled, deionized, and/or reverse osmosis water (kangen water?) with natura flavors that simulate the flavors of various juices, plus various vitamins. i've read that it's vegan so no worries there but i'll have to check up on it now and then in case it changes.
the names and flavors are like this: b-relaxed (jackfruit-guava: b+theanine). each is a different color too. you might refer to it as the color, the name, the "juice", or what it contains but for me i usually refer to it as the color or the name. there is one flavor i've nicknamed though. i call it diuretic although that's a misnomer but it should be called laxative.
at the store today i saw a new flavor of vitamin water: xxx. it contains acai. it's pretty good. kinda tastes like another flavor that we call weak adult kool-aid but this one tastes stronger, not so weak. i'm not sure if i've had the jackfruit-guava one either so i got that too. it's a little strange but still good. (i guess i'm not into jackfruit or guava too much.) that's my vitamin water story and i'm sticking to it.
