i went to marukai with my mom and twiddle thumbs. twiddle thumbs wants to get a membership there and my mom said if you sign up for a jcb credit card, you get a free membership. we went down there and you have to mail in the form and so the membership is not right away. my mom didn't have her membership card so she paid the $1 fee for forgetting her card. if you didn't grow up with marukai in your life then you are not japanese in southern california. it's the store to shop at for food and stuff but in more recent years it's becoming the japanese store for asians in general. even the workers aren't 100% japanese anymore. times they are a changing.
