dead cow. dead pig. dead chicken. [ingesting]
i went to chipotle at lunch for my usual mexican favorite: burrito. the girls behind me were pointing to a meat and asking the worker what kind of meat it was. he replied, "that's dead cow." then they asked what meat is next to it. he replied, "that's dead cow, shredded". he then pointed to the other meats: "dead pig. dead chicken." the girls got very upset, "why do you say that? why do you say 'dead cow', 'dead pig'?" and the worker replied that it is because they are dead that he calls them dead. it was funny for me to see the girls so upset over it. i wanted to butt in and start voicing my opinion as they obviously have not come to terms with what they eat but i didn't have time for that. i always thought that if you eat meat, you should understand where it comes from and even contribute. what i mean by that is, you should slaughter an animal, at least once in your life. i could never do that. i could not come to terms with that. but that is not why i went vegan at all. i would ignore it, put it out of my mind. the music i listen to was mixed. it was both meateater and vegetarian. "yes i eat cow i am not proud" (nirvana) and "meat is murder" (the smiths).
