work environments compared [working]

i've worked at a university with older ladies and now i'm working at a corporation with younger men. here's the difference between the two. the older ladies treat you like their child. i hated that. working with younger people, god, sometimes i feel like i'm babysitting or something. i think the main difference is boiled down to 2 points.

1. working in higher education is much different than working with people who started working straight out of high school and their highest goal seems to be to take a few community college classes. these people don't know what they want out of life yet, they're just trying to make some money to get by. whereas, i used to work with graduate students and the like so they had already decided what they wanted in life and were on the path to get there. those who didn't go onto higher education right away tend to get married and have kids. so many of the people at the company are married or have kids or both. it's a constant shock to me. but you're like 19?! how can you already have kids?! there's a girl my age with 5 kids. damn.

2. men vs. women. there are women who are into sports, pro sports and such, but not really at the university i came from. i purposely was there because it was not a sports culture. at my current job, it's so different. everyone is into sports. even the guys i thought were gay will suddenly become a football expert and it's like hey, i thought you were gay? are you checking out their asses in uniform? what's going on here? it's definitely a very macho environment. all the guys stand outside comparing cars (trucks and muscle cars) and talking about engines and stuff. even the higher ups will talk constantly about working out and bulking up, comparing weights, etc. please people. stop this. everyone just whip out your cocks and get it done with.
