she wants revenge on the brazilian girls [listening]

last night we saw she wants revenge at the avalon, formerly the palace. the tickets we bought off some girl who kindly gave us 4 for the price of 2 so we sold them to twiddle thumbs's co-worker. fuck the avalon! i miss the palace! the cost of parking was outrageous. i'm never going there again. the brazilian girls opened up. they are neither brazilian nor girls. just one girl. they were utter crap. no need for the live drummer as the electronics were blasting so loud it didn't matter if he played or not. there were times when he'd fuck up or stop for some reason and you never noticed a difference! the bassist was good but again, this is something that could've been on tape or electronics. the singer appeals to the lowest levels by singing primarily about pussy and marijuana or both. god damn they were lame. it's the kinda stuff only new york could love. even worse though was the opening dj who every minute made the music louder and more bassy to the point where the entire venue was nothing but distorted bass fuzz. it's the only time i've had to put on earplugs for pre-show sound system music!

she wants revenge was better than last time we saw them. i guess they got a rest. they're recording a new album but they didn't play any new songs. not much to say really. i like the album but live, i'm just not into it. twiddle thumbs's completely mad for them.
