today was my first event for the young okinawans of southern california. i am hosting the "okinawa in pop culture series". we're gonna watch movies that have something to do with okinawa. it's an excuse to get together and bring members out of the woodwork. today was "karate kid 2", where daniel and mr. miyagi go back to miyagi's homeland of okinawa.

i really didn't expect much of the first event but it would've been nice if more people showed up, of course. at first it went bad, turning into a meeting! not bad to be a meeting, but if people came out to see a movie, we should show the damn thing and not have a meeting. keep business outside of play time. plus, it was just going in circles and very tiring.
