movie and a good meal [watching]

yesterday my mom invited us to come over for food on new year's. before we went, we saw "apolyptico". i don't want to talk about "apolyptico" much because i feel like talking about any part of it will give the film away or ruin it to some degree. i didn't read anything about it. i just kinda heard that it was about the mayans and the aztecs, something like that. a tale of native americans in the past. very vague. i asked someone who saw it to tell me a little about it without giving anything away 'cos i wanted to know if it was worth seeing. they didn't tell me much but what they said gave away too much for me because the entire time i was watching the film, i was waiting for what i was told to happen.

anyway, the film was good. to me it was about some small tribe when the aztecs ruled, right as the europeans came over. apparently though that's not what it is or that's not what the marketing is. whatever. it's just an enjoyable film because you're always engaged. i mean, if you like it, then you're paying attention to see what happens next, there isn't much of a chance for you to get bored and doze off.

after the film we had dinner at my mom's and the food my mom made was goooood. it was so good that alpha tom would stop now and then and just say, "it's good" and pat his belly. it was so good that i'm gonna swing by my mom's and see if she has any leftovers!
