my mom took us to have dinner at mas' islamic chinese restaurant in anaheim. she had recently eaten their with her friends and was so impressed by the bread there that she invited us over. the place looks islamic but the food is chinese. i'm afraid i'm not very familiar with the islamic community living in china. the food is halal and expectedly heavy on lamb dishes but there were quite a bit of things that twiddle thumbs and i were able to eat. we had that wonderful sesame green onion thick bread, some vegetable dumplings, egg fried rice (no egg), i think an eggplant dish and a noodle dish, etc. we had a lot of food! plus my mom and her boyfriend ordered some non-vegan dish which we didn't touch. we ended up taking home a lot of leftovers but it was nice to learn of a new place. perhaps this is a good place for taking out of town guests.
