bar culture [ingesting]

i think the vitamin fad of the 80s is over. what was the 90s? shakes! shakes and a lot of devices. i think the 2000s fad is bars. i've been noticing a lot of bar culture. whenever i go to the supermarket, there are tons of "nutrition" or "health" bars but these are really just snacks. i suppose it is a like a food vitamin but if you read the labels, they really don't contain that much nutrition. so many of them are just junk with frosting and chocolate. only a few of them appear to be healthy. i'm normally not really into the bar scene, but i have tried a few of them and picked up some more last night to try them out. i don't know, i just feel like it'd be healthier to carry around granola, dried fruit and nuts, etc. or fresh fruit and a pocket knife. those bars are small and full of calories. perhaps they're great for malnurished anorexics. i can just hear my mom's voice i suppose, talking about eating 0 calorie or super low calorie foods to fill yourself up the asian way. "tired of bar culture? time to go asian." hahahaa
