today i stood out in the cold for 6 hours. why? volunteering with the yosc to collect donations for keiro senior healthcare facilities. i didn't feel like we collected much but every little bit helps. it's not like i necessarily am into begging for money so i didn't go all out and do stupid pet tricks to try to earn more. i just tried to be a little bit funny and greeted people in english and japanese. some of my co-volunteers don't know japanese so i felt like i had to step it up a bit with the japanese. it must've been a funny sight 'cos the only gaijin type face is the only one speaking japanese! haahahahhaaaa

while i was doing this, twiddle thumbs went and got a sofa! yeah! at first i was standing on my knees at the table to eat and that got old. then we bought some chairs and footstools and that got old too for watching tv. now we have a proper sofa! so exciting. i guess it's a home proper now.
