happiness in slavery [living]
yesterday we went with nopalita to ikea to shop for some basic things for the place, light floor mats and lights. it was the first time nopalita had ever been to ikea because she has never had a need before. she probably thought we were weird at how much we like the place. i just think that if you have your own place you are trying to decorate and you're on somewhat of a budget, ikea is great for picking up stuff, especially cheap kitchen goods. once we got home, i mounted the wall lights we had bought. there's a certain pride of ownership that came over me as i was doing this. when i was done and started attaching the lights, we realized that one of the glass pieces was actually in pieces. today we went to exchange just that broken piece for a new piece. i was relieved that they did this and i didn't have to take down the light and re-mount it. while we were there, i bought the entertainment center we had eyed yesterday. i had some energy left so i built the entire damn thing! it was heavy. it was tough to screw in all the parts. i sweated. i worked hard. i am tired. good night!
