this morning i went with twiddle thumbs to visit an old friend of her family's. they were talking about buddhism and going to temples as twiddle thumbs is seriously considering buddhism after the trip to japan. the friend asked if i wanted to go to her temple too. that was kind of a weird moment for me since i don't subscribe to any religion. it kind of took me back to those days when i went to a christian missionary school and i was constantly bombarded by questions like, "are you saved?" i just prefer to pick out the philosophical aspects out of religion instead of being a devout person to a particular faith. i just don't believe in anything and believe in everything at the same time. anything is possible. i also don't like fixating on particular deities, ornaments, and rituals.
