cigarettes and coffee [screaming]

if i have any pet peeve i suppose it would be cigarettes and coffee. these are two things the mass population seems to be addicted to. they make your breath reek and there is no health benefit. they just make people feel good who use them but they piss off the other people around them. don't get me wrong, i like pissing people off, but in ways that challenge their thinking and beliefs. when i lived in santa cruz, not that many people smoke...cigarettes. there were a lot of coffee drinkers but i just let it slide. now that i'm back in LA, i can't help but notice how many people cannot function without their nicotine and caffeine fixes. most days these things don't bother me but i guess today is not one of those days.

i can't come up with a list of pet peeves people have about me because that'd just be too long but my own personal peeve is that i 'play' with my split ends. i'm really just trying to get rid of them to have healthier hair. although pulling away the split strands doesn't exactly make the hair healthier! i don't do this terrible habit anymore now that my hair is short, but once it grows long again i'm going to have to control the urge to micro-groom. the way i used to try to control the urge or to help keep me from having bad posture or doing anything unfit would be to think to myself: 'what would marlene dietrich do?' laughable but it worked. i just might have to make a bracelet for myself and start up the mantra again.
