a day of endless shopping [living]

we went early to kohl's for the morning sale they were having. i had never been there before. hmm, it's kinda like target. we got a microwave oven cheap but not the one they had advertised. the manager in charge of inventory did a poor job stocking for the sale and admitted it herself! anybody with half a brain would know that when a major sale is being advertised, you better stock up! i didn't see people waking out with truckloads of stuff like they should be at such a sale. on top of that, there weren't even enough shopping carts. such a large store and the manager said they only have about 20 shopping carts. ridiculous. we did pick up something that wasn't on our list of necessities: a speaker/player unit for the ipod. we don't have a stereo anymore and thought this was the best solution since we live off ipods now, not cd players. the unti has an input, which is great because i still have a mini disc player and a record player. the unit can even function as a dvd player, you simply need to connect it to a tv.

twiddle thumbs then went to work as she has to do a lot of overtime these days at her job. they're implementing a new system and key people need to stick around after hours and on the weekends. she's dead tired but we need the extra cash it's providing so it works out. i then met up with my mom and her boyfriend. we have a dead space area in the living room that i think would be perfect for a dvd shelving unit. however, i can't think of any case that they sell that it is the right size. i drew a diagram and my mom's boyfriend said he could help me make it. we took the measurements and then went to home depot. they had such drama looking at the various woods and how it'd be a pain to build that my mom wanted to just find something readymade and buy it. she swears she has seen something in stores that fits the description of what i want. i need something that is wide however every cd/dvd rack that i know is readily sold in stores is always tall.

we spent a long time going to various stores and they kept looking at bookcases, which won't work. we went to staples, kmart, walmart, lowe's, and target. i am tired! i just gave up with them. i don't know why i didn't think of going to places that sell cds/dvds for a rack! later when twiddle thumbs was off work, we went to best buy and i immediately found something that worked 'cos it was short so i bought a couple of them to make it wide. we also went to bed bath and beyond to look for some kitchen/bathroom items that we need, plus i got some new bedding. we then went to another target to finish up the evening. i am so sick of shopping.
