skull Projects

Another "project" of mine is to minimize my life and I'm starting off by selling (and a few trades) most of my music collection. For now I am only listing about 200 pieces at a time, otherwise it becomes too much to deal with. If you do not see what you are looking for, then email me which band you are interested in and I'll see if I have what you're looking for. half.com, ebay, amazon.com, lala.com

buckethead at disneyland [listening]

i am dead tired from moving yesterday. on top of that, after we moved all day, we went to go see buckethead in concert at night. the show as at the anaheim house of blues, which is part of the disneyland complex. i went to the downtown disney parking lot that i went to last time so that i could park for free and avoid paying on the disney hotel side. that 1 guy opened up and also played with buckethead. the drummer was pinchface. no one else on stage. the crowd seemed to know who that 1 guy was. he was good again but nothing compares to the first time seeing him live. i think the same can be said for buckethead as well.

by the time we got there, there was a huge line to get in. i have never seen a line that long at the house of blues. perhaps it's always like that when you arrive a little late. we stood in the front area on the right side, on the stairs to walk down into the pit. there are so many tall people at buckethead shows that we needed the extra height the stairs provided, instead of going into the pit. there were a lot of people with kfc buckets on their head too. it seems like the trend now. that 1 guy performed some new songs about the moon and cheese. (a cool song for vegans, "the moon is disgusting, it is made of cheese".) buckethead played a long show as always. there was a break and an encore. towards the end, we were tired and saw the rest upstairs so that we could sit down. we checked out the merchandise and i picked up a couple cds i didn't have. there was a contest too but we didn't win any of the prizes.

at one point, buckethead played bass without a strap so he had to sit down. this guy close to us was freaking out because he had never seen buckethead sit down before and he wouldn't shut up about it. goddamn, it's not that big of a deal! plus, buckethead plays banjo sitting down so i guess he missed that tour. we didn't even try to get a setlist because we were up on the second floor when the show ended. i didn't even attempt to write down a setlist because buckethead has such a huge catalogue and he even changes it up a bit from the printed setlists.
