i went with twiddle thumbs to her first band rehearsal and musical debut with my only culture. it goes like this. her co-worker friend is a guitarist and is in a couple bands. one of them is called my only culture. they have a singer. i thought there were more people but that's it. that's the band. they used to have a guy that played congas. twiddle thumbs owns congas so enter her into the picture. i helped her take the congas to the singer's house for rehearsal. (yes, i was the roadie.) they practiced 2 songs for about 1 hour and then we loaded the congas back into the car in order to run down to open mic night at a coffee shop in long beach. they signed up on the list and the host picks the order at random. they ended up being second on the bill so there was not much time to get nervous or back out. they played their 2 songs (1 original, 1 cover) and were out of there. pretty cool. definitely something different tonight! the band has another show booked at the rainbow room on sunset next friday. twiddle thumbs has a lot to learn in a short amount of time, no pressure!
