the other day, (which is LA speak for any day in the past!), i was driving and noticed a mediterranean restaurant. i've been searching for a place to get falafels in the neighborhood and i finally found it! today we ate there. i don't think i've had proper falafels since new zealand and i have missed it. the availability of falafels was the great thing about new zealand for us veggieheads. the falafels at the place i found were pretty good, though a bit on the salty side. i'm looking forward to going back there and having some more food.

at night we went to twiddle thumbs's sister's place to continue with the japanese lessons in preparation for our trip next month. on the way home, on the other side of the freeway, we saw the aftermath of an accident, probably the worst i have seen. car on fire!
