this morning, the electricity was out! this was not a day to be late. today it was important that i get there early. i thought i'd have to pry open the garage door and then pry open the gate to get to work but minutes before i left, the electricity went back on. in the morning, there was a surprise visitor. i didn't know this person was coming but i finally heard good news about my job situation. i am going to take over the position of the person who left effective august 1. this means i get my own office and a raise. now i won't be embarrassed to order business cards. however, nothing's signed in ink yet so don't hold your breath.

i guess now i can talk a little bit about why i was pissy on friday. you see, there were 3 criteria i had once i got back from new zealand and was looking for a job. i think it's better not to talk about specifics as to what these criteria were/are, just that there were 3 main points. the job i have now met 2 of those points when i was offered and accepted the position. then i started working with the company and realized it only met 1 of my original criteria. more recently, it meets 0 of the 3 criteria! and well, it's just not acceptable is it. with my upcoming job change, it will meet 2 of 3 criteria again. that is acceptable. i would go out and celebrate with a decent dinner but i am so broke that we ate at carl's junior/the green burrito. sad but these are the (poor) times.
