mac to good home [geeking]

tonight went to give one of the rescued macs to a good home (we hope!). we gave it to twiddle thumbs's little sister who currently has a pc in a coma. the display of her laptop is completely ruined. it's pretty fucking amazing! her friend actually dropped her laptop. how can anyone not be completely pissed at that? that girl owes her a fucking laptop!!! on top of that, it's overloaded with viruses. you cannot even start the damn thing in safe mode. suffice it to say, it's fucked. on top of that, her ipod is fucked as well. we setup the mac and the monitor and began to show her how to use a mac. once we opened up garageband, you should've seen the look in her eyes. she could've cried on the spot. show a budding musician garageband if you want to see the same look. i don't think she'll ever touch a pc again. i don't think she'll sleep a wink this week. that's how it goes when you get your first mac. even if it is used, mac rocks! except for her ipod, which i couldn't get to startup in manual disk mode. i didn't stay around to let it fully charge to try again.

used g4 powerpc: $150
used mac $17 monitor: $50
new 120gb hard drive: $54.11
giving someone their first mac: priceless
