jump starting ryan seacrest [working]

ok, it's a strange entry title but here's how my day went at work. we have a big cut out of ryan seacrest at work. everytime people walk in the door, they have to comment on it. i couldn't care either way about it because i've never watched the said offender on tv but he bugs a lot of people. my boss calls me up asking me to find out how much it will cost to ship ryan seacrest. why? because a customer wants it! no one will believe this but ryan seacrest is finally proving to be useful. we're using him to close a deal with a customer. we're the kind of place that always puts the customer first. if the customer wants ryan seacrest, she is going to get ryan seacrest. we luckily had the perfect size flat cardboard box (don't throw trash away too quickly!) and ryan fit in there snugly. we didn't have packaging tape so we used this big roll of cellophane that we have. ryan seacrest is wrapped in plastic! oh there are so many jokes but i will let your imagination run wild with it. anyway, we gave it to our driver who's going to deliver it to one place, and then another guy is going to deliver it to another place. it's a ryan seacrest relay!

just when i thought that was enough fodder for skullblog, one of my co-worker's car's battery died. he accidentally left the lights on his vw beetle. this is the third time i've had to push a car by myself while the driver tries to jump start it. (odd note: each time, it has been a manual transmission vehicle.) i wasn't dressed in the appropriate attire for such sweaty work in the hot sun. hell, i wasn't sure if i should take off my dress sandals and push the car barefoot. but i pushed that thing and ran my ass off. it was the lightest car i have ever had to push. it was pretty effortless but the car would not start. even some passing homeless were sympathetic and helped us out. (they swear they were not "bums" but they sure smelled like it.) notice no one in the business complex helped out. i've had a broken car or helped out in a work parking lot a few times and no one, not even my/our own co-workers, have helped out. we kept going and eventually the other guys were running out of breath and my own out-of-shape-ness started to catch up to me but i felt good at how long i was able to keep up without feeling any issues. (not bad for an asthmatic!) when the sun is hot and you're working hard, somehow your brain clicks off. it was at this point of rest that our brains started to kick in. we decided to stop this push nonsense and break out my jumper cables! (perhaps a higher power intervened to remind us all that we need to start exercising regularly and especially do cardio.) it took awhile and i had to rev my engine for awhile but eventually we got the car started! hurray!
