on the edge [watching]
netflixed "on the edge" as part of twiddle thumbs's attempt to watch all films cillian murphy is in. it's too obvious to say this but i compare it to another film about young people depressed in a mental institution, "girl, interrupted". to further go down the obvious observation, "girl, interrupted" was 'american'. i know it was based on a book by a person who went through it but "on the edge" felt more touching to me. it's kinda like feeling you're crazy until you meet people who are actually crazy. then you start to feel normal and want to help them but you can't. it's hard to say why some people can fall into a pit and never climb out of it while others can. maybe i just liked it because though i've never been institutionalized, i could relate to it. what the characters were going through felt real.
