head of hippy hair [living]

i've been trying out natural shampoo/conditioner products, stuff without as many chemicals and free of animal cruelty as compared to what you would find in major supermarkets. (does it really make sense to buy your personal hygiene products where you buy your food?) i've been trying a tea tree oil based shampoo and conditioner. at first, the power of the tea tree was so overwhelming that i wasn't sure if i liked it or not. i've come to like it--as long as it doesn't sting my eyes or burn my forehead (haven't got it in the eyes, yet). also been trying the cheapest thing available at trader joe's. it's like hippie suave. cheap, cruelty free, but i don't really feel clean or bouncy, you know what i mean? my hair doesn't feel like my freakin' hair.
