so this is how businesses save money [working]
we're working in a bit of a health hazard environment at the moment. our new space isn't finished and so there's fiberglass threads in the air as some work is being done. later on there will be construction too. joy. it's really not that bad because i used to work at the chemistry department office and even though they said it was safe, i swear i have health problems because of the bad shit in the air. the new place is nicer and we have our own restrooms and a break room type sink but without the break room. the female restroom needs a little tile work but i don't care about that at all. since i'm the only female, maybe i should make the restroom my own space, my own office! hahahaaa i mean, leave a toothbrush/toothpaste set and be one of those old ladies that brushes their teeth at work.
there really isn't much we can do without phones and internet so we try to put the furniture in its right place, hang pictures, and not get in the way of those doing more technical duties. plus, it's raining hard and i don't carry around an umbrella in southern california. i had to run errands in the rain and by the time i was done, i was soaked. (pass the soap, please.) i keep getting paranoid about fiberglass itch and am constantly washing my hands. we don't have hot water so everytime i wash my hands i'm freezing. we have a little joke in the office that this is how the company is saving money, by not having hot water.
